Asian Youth Day (AYD) is the coming together of Catholic youths from different Asian countries. This weeklong life experience enables young people to gather in formation programs and plan their future spiritual lives. At the same time, the gathering aims to provide an opportunity for Catholic youths to explore and renew their faith, so that they can share the Gospel with others through the work of justice and peace.

The experiences shared by the participants about the week-long celebration were indeed inspiring. The way they were welcomed and taken care of by the host-families or the dioceses, the days of faith formation and the opportunity to participate in the Beatification liturgy of 124 Korean Martyrs by Pope Francis have created a great sense of belonging in the minds of the participants. Some of them also had the opportunity to meet Pope Francis in person!
